- Howdy!
-
- This is the first time I've sent a message to this group, or any group
- actually, so please forgive if it is in any way incorrectly formatted,
- sent, etc. Thanks..
-
- I have come up with a possible movie/programming like intro that I
- think is pretty cool.. hopefully setting a moody atmosphere to the game.
- Opinions are welcome:
-
- Once the player runs the program, we are presented with a black
- screen.. nothing happens and everything is eerily quiet with only the
- sound of rushing wind to comfort us. We begin to hear an odd alien type of
- whisper, then another, and another, each one building with instinsity yet
- remaining fairly quiet. These whispers, sound like they are right in front
- of us, overlapping to form hundreds of voices.
-
- Suddenly the screen flashes with a frame(1 frame, very quickly) of
- monsters/creatures lined up and marching toward the screen/us.. we catch a
- very brief glimpse of the danger heading toward us -- the screen goes
- black again, the whispering continues and grows yet even louder.. while
- the next frame also briefly flashes it's way onto the screen a couple
- seconds later after the first. This continues, growing in intensity and
- loudness as the creatures get closer to the camera /screen with each brief
- passing frame(also being displayed faster), when they get very close.. we
- start to hear our heart beat and heavy breathing commence.. the evil is
- almost upon us.
-
- By this time, all the noise is almost nerve racking and the creature
- frames are being displayed very quickly now.. until finally they are so
- close we could reach out and touch them.. this is where the screen
- fades(stops frame playback) and all monster sounds go quickly but quietly
- down as if someone/something hushed them down. The heavy breathing and the
- heart beat are still going.
-
- While still being on a black screen and with the heavy breathing in
- the background, the credits are displayed in quick dissolves which ushers
- each logo/name onscreen quickly and then off, this continues the pace of
- the screen before it. All the while the credits are played/shown, we now
- start to hear a gun being clicked and prepared.. this is in addition with
- the heavy breathing and heart beat.
-
- After the credits screen is finished, everything stops. A black screen
- once again is presented to us and now we hear an organ type of music play
- in a downward spiral(i.e. starting loud then going shaky down).. graphic
- chunks pop onto the screen from a variety of ways and each piece carries a
- part of the Bad Mood logo.. much like a torn map. Some of these pieces fly
- across the screen from left to right(vice versa) while losing strength and
- fading into nothingness, other pieces are flying in from the background of
- the screen and are heading toward the screen in a 3d fashion but always
- fade before reaching it, others are falling, other pieces are also doing
- things similar to this, each one fading before they get to their
- destination. This goes on a for a couple of seconds with each(most) pieces
- being onscreen and doing there own thing at the same time.. until finally
- we hear a gun shot(from the earlier loading) and they all 'ZIP' into
- place. This is where we hear a pumping soundtrack, ready for the game to
- begin.

-
- This is my first rough draft and thus isn't also proofread that much..
- please excuse all spelling mistakes, etc. Also, I would like to point out
- that this actually goes quicker then it reads, but for the sake of
- thoroughness and completeness, I had to draw it out. Thanks for everyone's
- time..
